About LobbyVault

Our Mission

LobbyVault exists to make political money transparent and accessible to every American. We believe that understanding who funds our elected officials — and how much — is fundamental to a functioning democracy. Our goal is to take complex FEC filings and lobbying disclosures and present them in a way that anyone can understand.

What We Track

  • Candidate Funding — Total receipts, individual contributions, PAC money, cash on hand, and spending for every federal candidate.
  • Individual Donations — The biggest individual donors, where they live, who they work for, and which committees receive their money.
  • PAC & Super PAC Spending — Political Action Committees, their treasurers, connected organizations, and how much they raise and spend.
  • Geographic Analysis — Donation patterns by state and city, showing where political money originates across the country.

Data Sources

All data on LobbyVault comes from public records filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). We process FEC bulk data files and update our database nightly to ensure the most current information is available. Lobbying data comes from Senate Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) filings.

Every number you see on this site is derived directly from official government filings. We do not editorialize, estimate, or extrapolate — we simply make the data easier to find and understand.

Independence

LobbyVault is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any political party, candidate, PAC, or government agency. We are an independent transparency project committed to presenting data without bias or editorial slant.
